About Halee

Health and Life Educational Enterprises(HALEE) is a 501 c-3 non-profit organization providing employment services and supported employment services for individuals who have encountered difficulty obtaining, maintaining and retaining employment.

Employment Services

HALEE’s Employment Specialist assists individuals with seeking employment of their choice, and based on the outcomes of the individual’s Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE).The Employment Specialist provides assistance in building a variety of skills that are necessary in the every day work environment, to allow the individual to accomplish positive employment outcomes.

Supported Employment

HALEE’s Employment Specialist provides services for individuals who have the most significant disability with seeking employment. The specialist provides continuous ongoing support services to assist the individual with being successful during employment. HALEE’s Employment Specialist also provides ongoing support services for individuals who have been incarcerated and have re-entered the workforce.

Employment Services & Supported Employment Mission

HALEE is dedicated to assisting individuals in seeking employment of their choice, based on the outcomes of the individual’s Plan for Employment (IPE). HALEE provides assistance in building a variety of skills that are necessary in work environments, allowing individuals to achieve positive employment outcomes.

Employment Services:
Adults 18 and older

Pre-placement Training

  • Resume Development
  • Training in punctuality, grooming, attendance and other job readiness skills
  • Instructions on payroll deductions, benefits and job safety

Job Development & Placement Services

  • Connect with employers and build networks to develop opportunities consistent with the individual’s IPE & personal choice.
  • Provide job site consultations to determine if there are barriers to employment and modify as needed
  • Negotiate job accommodations

Job Site Training

  • Provide job analysis and consultation
  • Provide job carving
  • Assist new employees with new job task
  • Train individuals, employers and co workers as needed
  • Provide training for individual to complete new tasks or changes in the workplace

Job Retention Support

  • Assist with 90 day employment and follow up with employer through routine visits.

Supported Employment Services:
Adults 18 and older

Individual Career Plan

  • A career plan will be designed based on the individual’s Individualized Plan of Employment (IPE).

Job Placement

  • Individuals will be assisted with obtaining, maintaining and retaining employment, that is equal with the individual’s vocational interest.

Stabilization and Transitioning

  • Support will be provided to assist the individual with accomplishing job performance goals that are necessary to become stabilized in employment according to the individual’s IPE.
  • After a minimum of 90 days of stabilization, HALEE will begin seeking additional funding to allow the continuation of Supported Employment Services. (a joint
    agreement between the individual and the DOE / DVR is required).

Extended Services (Phase II Services)

  • HALEE will assist in providing support and maintaining Supported Employment by seeking funds from non-DOE / DVR sources for Phase II. Subject to employment stability as seen through site visits, etc.

Student Job Training

  • Age 14-17, parental approval.

CCIR Training

H.A.L.E.E.’s Pre-Placement Training services consist of lectures and interactive discussions, given either individually or within a group setting. Our training includes role playing, assigned readings, training regarding independent investigation, and other interactive training methods.

This course contains performance objectives used in the four basic areas of career training for developmentally disabled and other substantially handicapped persons including Supported Employment. Proper work habits include demonstrating good attendance in a work situation, knowing the importance of beginning work promptly and following instructions, demonstrating a cooperative process for the customer to be successful in their career choice.

Topics will be chosen based on the needs of the individual customer, and other subjects may be added based on the specific needs of individuals.

  • Email development
  • Training in punctuality
  • Grooming
  • Attendance
  • Other job readiness skills

Instructions will be provided regarding payroll deduction, benefits, and job safety.

Federal tax credits may be available for employers who hire individuals with disabilities into permanent position.
